Each week (for three years running) GWC\'s geek hosts jump into new material, becoming fans and passing on the experience with the help of what\'s widely recognized as the friendliest community in science fiction and fantasy. Rolling Stone magazine called GWC \"the NPR of BSG,\" and Howard Stern agreed, describing GWC (and geeking in general) as a \"guilty pleasure.\" Past topics include The Guild, Alien, Eureka, Eve Online, Star Trek, Terminator, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Serenity, Dr. Horrible, Tron, War Games, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Cosmos, Batman, Transformers, X-Men, Mass Effect, SyFy and sci-fi programs, individuals such as Will Smith, Felicia Day, Joss Whedon, and many more!

@john b: Yeah but I doubt anyone will ever top Richard Hatch for longest rant. Heheheh Man that guy can talk. Reminds me of how I was in college, only he's far more intelligible, wiser, and probably not always wasted. :D

Anyway, that's why it is a good idea to listen to them the next day while you're doing some mindless busywork. Much the same way most people listen to talk radio. My only complaint is that I can't count the number of times I have wanted to call into the show over some comment or interesting point raised only to face the reality that I'm listening to a recording.

And I always miss the live casts.

I agree with ChairSpread.
Great job.
With Ron Moore's commentary, its becomes un-manageable.

there are tricks with iTunes and Media Player.
ITunes/iPod/iPhone: If you convert it to AAC. then rename the extension to m4b (Audiobook) iTunes can play the "faster". Approx 1.8x speed.
it does adjust the pitch so people don't sound like chipmonks.

Windows Media Player: can do this without converting the file, change the speed to "faster"

I'm a big fan of GWC, but I may have to stop listening. I simply don't have 2 1/2 hours a week to catch up on your podcast. Last week I had to cut it off half-way through. It's your show and your sweat equity and the fun you have doing is obvious. I look forward to it each week. But I'm literally running out of time. Have you considered shorter podcasts? Suggestion: breaking them into two separate 'casts with the first one focusing on the core of the current week's show.
